Glenigan customer event gives cash injection to Great Ormond Street Hospital

Generous guests at an event organised by Glenigan customer BCF have helped to boost funds for a Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) charity appeal.

The networking lunch, held in Sandbanks, Dorset, on 28 February, raised £850 towards a fundraising campaign for the hospital launched by Glenigan’s parent company Top Right Group earlier this year.

Top Right Group is aiming to raise more than £85,000 to fund a new ‘change faces practitioner’ within the dermatology department at Great Ormond Street who can support children with debilitating skin conditions and facial disfigurements.

A series of fundraising activities will be held across the group to reach the target, including a sponsored expedition to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and an opportunity to take part in the Mallorca 300 cycle challenge.

Bernard Johnson, Managing Director of Glenigan, said: “We’re delighted with the amount raised and would like to extend our thanks to BCF and everyone who made a donation.

“Each year Top Right Group works with charities to help give back to our communities and provide support through fundraising and volunteering our time. Our partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital will help to fund a vital new role and we hope to raise a record amount of money for this truly worthwhile cause.”

Claire Brown, an account manager at Glenigan, spoke to around 90 guests at the BCF event about the GOSH appeal before the collection was held.

David Brown, Director at BCF, said: “We run around five networking events a year and we are always looking for charities to support.

“Claire suggested the Great Ormond Street Hospital appeal and our guests really dug deep - it’s such a great cause.”
