Costain wins £150m M6 smart motorway contract Costain has won a £150m contract to deliver a 16 km section of smart motorway for Highways England. The work will cover a stretch of the M6 in the North-west between J21a with the M62 near Warrington and J26 west of Wigan. Council hunts partner for £200m Surrey regeneration Surrey Heath Borough Council is seeking a development partner to deliver a £200m regeneration in Camberley. The council wants to build around 350 homes and 10,000 sq m of commercial space across a 2.2 ha site in the Surrey town. Bidders will also be asked to prepare proposals for new offices on the site, which the council said could unlock other areas for redevelopment. Read the full article on the Construction News website.
Bouygues bags deal on £300m Cardiff Uni campus Bouygues has been chosen to build the latest phase of Cardiff University’s £300m innovation campus. The contractor was chosen by the university to develop a disused railway yard at the site, which will become the centrepiece of the new Cardiff Innovation Campus at Maindy Park. Bouygues will build two new facilities on the site: Spark, billed as the world’s first social science research park; and the Innovation Centre, which will provide a creative space for start-ups.
