Contractor awarded £35m university sports centre

Interserve Project Services has been awarded the main contract for the scheme comprising of construction of an indoor sports centre. This will include a 50m swimming pool, inclusive of a movable floor and boom, a 12 badminton court sports hall with 700 bleacher seats, hybrid sports hall, 6 squash courts, large member's gym, performance gym and wellbeing centre, spa, two activity rooms, dojo and a climbing wall. The facility will be backed up by office, administrative, back of house and service accommodation commensurate with an indoor sports facility of this scale and is being engineered to provide an Environmental Performance Certificate rating of A. This will include 270 car parking spaces. Start on site date is yet to be confirmed.

Public exhibitions to be held for motorway works

Public Exhibitions to be held from Friday 18th October 2013 into the M25 Junction 30/A13 Corridor Relieving Congestion Scheme. Following the Governments Autumn 2012 statement improvement works to J30 of the M25 is to receive £150 million of investment. Construction work on the scheme is programmed to start early in 2015 with completion scheduled for autumn 2016. Procurement is to commence late 2013.

Invitations to tender are expected to be dispatched during November 2013 for the £6 million demolition framework contract for Liverpool City Council. Works are expected to get underway February 2014 and be carried out over a period of 4 years. The majority of the demolition works will include low rise residential properties of all ages and types
